1844 Bloor Street West Development – News & Upcoming Meeting

Dear Residents,

Some of you may be interested to learn about a new development that is being planned for just down the street, at 1844 Bloor Street West. In breaking with the long standing heigh restrictions along this section of Bloor Street, this new building is planned to be 14 stories high and is designed in a modern, glass-dominated fashion, which has created strong opposition in the community.

Holiday Party!

A big thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s annual Holiday Party – it was a great turnout and we all enjoyed a big selection of delicious dishes! It was wonderful to chat with familiar neighbours and meet some new faces too. The Christmas tree is now decorated in the front lobby, and smells wonderful! All the best to the residents of Twenty Gothic, we hope you have a safe and happy holiday season.

Bloor West Village – Cavalcade of Lights

For those who are interested, the Bloor West Village Cavalcade of Lights will be taking place tomorrow, Wednesday November 16th at 6pm at the corner of Jane & Bloor.

“The Village lights up with the wonderful lights of Christmas. Join us for carol singing at the Alex Ling Fountain (Bloor and Jane) at 6:00pm –  Santa arrives at the Village!

The Cavalcade of Lights is the harbinger of Christmas in the area. People get ready to welcome the merry days ahead. The entire Bloor West Village area bears the festive look with well-lit fountain and trees. The beautiful oak and maple wear the festive charm in the night.

Children wait for the arrival of Santa Claus. They enjoy posing for a photo with him. People go euphoric with the arrival of the band.”

Save the Date: Sunday December 4th, Holiday Potluck Brunch!

Dear Residents,

Mark your calendars, it’s almost time for the annual Twenty Gothic Holiday potluck Brunch! Each year this popular event invites all residents to gather and celebrate the holiday season – meet your neighbours, enjoy some brunch & drinks and even help us as we decorate the Christmas tree in the front lobby.

This event is a potluck so we ask for those who are interested, to bring a snack to share (don’t worry about feeding the whole crowd, just bring enough for 10-12ppl). Fruit, cheese, breakfast favourites, apple cider – the possibilities are endless! Even if you cannot bring a dish, we’d love for everyone to stop by so we can meet and mingle and get to know one another.

After the party ends, those who would like to help will go downstairs to the front lobby and help decorate the tree!

Reminder: AGM & Proxy Voting Station

A quick reminder that the Twenty Gothic Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place Tuesday October 25th, at 7pm in the Gala Suite in Club Twenty. We encourage all owners to attend this important meeting where we will discuss the previous year’s financial statements and other important milestones, and will be holding the election for two Board of Director positions.

If you cannot attend the AGM, please be sure to submit your Proxy Vote. You can do so by:

  • Stop by the Proxy Station that will be set up in the lobby on the evening of Monday October 24

Carpet Cleaning: This Thursday & Friday

This notice is to inform you that we have scheduled a carpet cleaning for Thursday July 21 and Friday, July 22, 2011 from 9:00am-5:00pm.

Management is asking that you proceed with caution while walking through the building during this process as the floor surfaces may be slippery; please take small short steps to ensure your safety. Thank you!

Update: Visitor Parking Repairs

As a follow up to the earlier post, please note that Monarch will begin the repairs to the driveway and the Visitors’ Parking garage on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at 9:00am. Please be advised that the contractors will be onsite to set-up their equipment at 8:00am.

Please be aware that during the front driveway repairs vehicles will be redirected; please follow pylons and signage accordingly.

We would like to advise residents that due to the nature of the repairs in the Visitors’ Parking garage, residents entering the garage will be rerouted to the left side (between the pillar and the wall); arrows and signs will be posted during this time to help guide residents. Cars must be redirected as vehicles cannot drive on the waterproof membrane for a period of 48 hours. The Corporation will not be liable for any damages to vehicles, should you choose to use your car during this time, please note that you do so at your own risk.

We would like to remind residents that visitors’ parking will be limited during this time; parking spot numbers 4-13 will NOT be available, beginning at 7am on Wednesday July 27’th. We ask you to please inform your guests accordingly. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Urgent Notice: Parking Garage Repairs

Dear Residents,

Please note that Monarch will be repairing the driveway and the waterproof membrane in the visitor’s parking garage sometime in the upcoming week.

We would like to advise you that due to the nature of the repairs, entering the garage will be re-routed to the left side (between the pillar and the wall) – arrows and signs will be posted during this time to help guide residents.

Cars must be re-routed as they will not be permitted to drive on the membrane for a 48 hour period. This is a vital repair to ensure protection against water leakage.

Please note that visitor’s parking will be limited during this time – we ask that you inform your guests accordingly.

Please note that Monarch has yet to confirm the date for repairs – residents will be notified as soon as management receives confirmation. Thank you for your patience.

Reminder: By-law Meeting & Vote, June 21st!

As you have recently received, a reconvened meeting has been called for Owners as a continuation of our previous By-Law Vote meeting which took place on April 26th. This reconvened meeting will now take place on Tuesday June 21st, at 7pm in the Gala Room to discuss and VOTE on a proposed change to Twenty Gothic’s Condominium By-laws. A letter has recently been sent to every Owner explaining this process and we encourage everyone who cannot attend to submit their proxy vote in advance. We look forward to seeing everyone there, and if you cannot make it, please be sure to submit your proxy vote. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Property Management, or the board directly at board@twentygothic.ca.
